‘Capricorn Sun’ is both a statement of where she is right now as an artist and producer, but also a reflection of time she spent writing and recording the album, and the impact of global events, familial upheaval and personal struggles during that period. As a Capricorn herself, TSHA was initially drawn to the tales of ancient Greek mythology that told of a creature with the body of a goat and tail of a fish, hinting at the dual nature of the sign and the idea of having two distinct sides to a personality. She explains. “Naming the album ‘Capricorn Sun’ was a good way of saying ‘this is me’ ".
The branding uses fluid typography visually communicating the duality and shifts she has experienced and tells through her music. Creating a monogram serves a practical and decorative purpose; identity and a personal message behind the album. The graphics, type and imagery from TSHA's album shoot was paired with a muted and warm colour palette that takes you to the past with softness.
The release had 3 editions. 2 LP variants, one packed with a slip mat, and a single CD.
In partnership with Amazon music, the album launch followed the album creative. A 60s wacky carnival-esque event, with goats, funfair games and snacks, and an audiophile listening room playing the album. I created custom tarot cards with personalised messages, lifted the decals form the album that decked out the room, alongside fly posters to create an array of visuals for the event. Centering the logo marks as the identity of the brand was the main point of focus for the worldwide print campaign an activation event in partnership with Amazon music.
